I profusely apologize about the lack of updates to this site. I have not gone away! Things have been hectic in my life lately, but things are finally clearing up. I went on vacation for awhile, and just recently moved. Work has also been busy lately, and when I come home I haven’t had the motivation to get back on my computer and get a review of a distro cranked out.

As I said, I have just moved. My desktop hasn’t even been hooked back up yet. I have 2 reviews half-written that I’m going to have to go back and revive. In any case, I plan on getting some updates here very soon! Thanks for your patience.

Hi and welcome back to TriedIT. This post is a brief summary of how and why I have looked to Linux as my computer operating system of choice. I don’t claim to know Linux inside and out. But I have played with the system for over 10 years now and more convinced that ever that it has been time well spent.

Well I’ve been sick the last few days hence the lack of updates and another review. I’m happy to see that more and more people are coming to my site and reading it. I still have a plan to make a custom theme for this site soon, but I’m working on some other projects as well at the moment. In any case I want to thank all my readers for continuing to come by and check out my reviews. If you have any suggestions or comments, please email me or leave a comment. I hope to be fully recovered in a few days and hopefully I can get another review up very soon.

You may have noticed some changes to the site today. Yes, there are Google Ads on here now. I am definitely against having annoying ads which many sites use, and knowing the demographic of my readers, you are too. I went with Google’s text ads because I knew they wouldn’t be outlandish. The recent (and unexpected) success of my site has made me decide to put up a few ads. Hopefully my readers will not be disappointed. It does take a lot of time and effort to test something and write and prepare a review, and since thousands of people have been reading my site recently I figured it would be added incentive to continue putting up as much high quality content as my free time allows.

Other than the Google Ads, I have added a few buttons on the left side to encourage you all the add my site to your RSS readers and to add me as one of your Technorati favorites. So, please go ahead and do that.

I will be working on designing my own fresh look and feel for the site over the course of this month as well.

Other than that, look for a couple of new reviews soon and hopefully another original article tonight as well. Thanks for your support, everyone.

February has come and gone and this site has now been online for a month. The idea for this site came to me late one night when I couldn’t sleep. I thought it would be a good idea to write about some things that I found interesting based on my interest and knowledge of computers and see if people would want to read about it. Based on the thousands of people who have since clicked on and read my articles since this site appeared late one cold January night, it is clear to me that people have been reading what I’ve written.

I would like to thank all of my readers, people who’ve commented on my articles, and those who have found my material worth linking to, for helping make this site a success in such a short period of time.

I would also like to thank my girlfriend Nancy and my friend Manan who have both encouraged me to make this site happen and to continue working on it.

There are more new original articles coming very soon, and I hope to make some visual improvements to this site as well. TriedIT is a month old and it’s off to a great start. This is only the beginning!

Ok, so it has been a week since the last article. This is mainly due to the fact that my birthday was last week and I’ve been very busy going out with friends and having a great time. This past weekend I was busy as well spending time with my girlfriend and watching the Super Bowl.

During this short break, I’ve been re-thinking some aspects of this site. I am going to broaden the scope a bit and, rather just post my own reviews, I am planning on “reporting” on other people’s reviews and including my comments on them. In addition I will be writing about new releases of interesting things that come out that I might be interested in reviewing in the future. These improvements are intended to help me keep things on here fresh and interesting so I regularly have things to post. I will continue to do reviews, and I have one that should be coming out this evening about PC-BSD. Stay tuned!
